Dear Human-kind,
In finding a desire for power in the lowest state of being, an incredible emotion overwhelms the person who breaks through to the purest veins of ambition. It is the reason behind it, however, which must be carefully monitored as it is nurtured, if it gets the chance to engage in smelting, smithies, and finally, a great craftsmen’s fingers.

The difference between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr is slight but essential. Both men did desire to rise up and make their mark; to leave a legacy that would endure time’s destructive force. However, whilst Hamilton rose to the top on the passion of his message, Burr found one can only go so far in pursuit of power without a foundation.

Patience is essential – a currency that cannot come easily to the hands of those with their heart set on change. Human beings are on the precipice of a cliff that they did not realise they had built up – it came quickly yet naturally. Now, we must force a change that a majority of humans do not have the will to adhere to. The powerful do not care as their fingers are stuck in the pies of destruction, and those who care are without power, knee deep in the sludge created by their predecessors.

I am in favour of thought experiments involving aliens; the only creatures that we do not deem lesser than the lives of our own human existences are those which we cannot yet comprehend. What does that say about our civilisation? People tell me it is natural, or unnatural, or human nature – but what is human nature? Are we still a part of nature?

Too many humans – all of us to varying degrees – have felt that lust of ambition and power, and view themselves, if not above their fellow men, above their fellow Earthlings. Once many did consider themselves above their fellow humans. When did that start? When will it end? There is nothing so sure as the inevitability that we will always strive to be better - and be better than other creatures, other people, others.

It is our condition. Our human condition. A cross to bear.
Hope you are well.
Yours desperately.
